About the research
Research objective: This project includes the activities required for the continued implementation, operation, and enhancement of the Iowa DOT pavement management optimization system. The work will cover all of the Iowa DOT interstate and primary systems. Previous phases of the project covered the evaluation and selection of the pavement management methodology. This phase covers new enhancements to be made to the Iowa DOT pavement management system including managing the automated distress data collection contract, developing the geographic information system database, providing highway performance monitoring system ride data, and also providing continued support for the Iowa DOT pavement management activities.
