August 15 deadline to apply for traffic safety improvement funds

The Iowa DOT's Traffic Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) funds city and county safety projects through one-half of one percent of the Road Use Tax Fund. Funding is available on a competitive basis for projects in the following categories:

Proposals for funding each year must be submitted to the Office of Traffic and Safety by August 15. Successful applicants will be notified in February or March of the following year.
