Congratulations to Eric Fitzsimmons

Eric, a PhD candidate in civil engineering at Iowa State University, was named MTC Scholar of the Year. He received an all expenses paid trip to attend the Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. in January 2008 where he will be recognized along with scholars from other regions by the U.S. Department of Transportation for their outstanding contributions to the field of transportation.

Eric also recently won the best paper award at the annual MTC Scholars Conference for his paper, "An Investigation of the Change in Crash Rates at Automated Red Light Running Enforced and Comparison Intersections in Davenport and Council Bluffs, Iowa Using Descriptive Statistics" (165K pdf).
