2nd Annual Transportation Career Fair

The MTC is helping sponsor the 2nd Annual Transportation Career Fair April 21, 2005, at Iowa State University.

After getting their feet wet with a limited invitation list last year, this year organizers are inviting high school students, their teachers and parents from the whole state of Iowa. Organizers hope to attract more than 250 students to this year's fair.

The fair will include two activity areas, one indoor and one outdoor, with students participating in both, rotating over lunch. The indoor activities will include two presentations on various aspects of the transportation industry, exhibits, and vendor booths. The outdoor activities will include hands-on demonstrations and activities.

The fair is being hosted by the Center for Transportation Research and Education (CTRE), Iowa State University (ISU), the Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT), and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). Organizers represent CTRE, ISU, Iowa DOT, DMACC, Federal Highway Administration, and Associated General Contractors of Iowa.
