Call for Student Papers
Fall Student Conference
Friday November 9, 2007, 1:00-4:00 pm
Iowa State University Scheman Building, Ames, Iowa
Paper submission deadline: October 12, 2007
Undergraduate and graduate students from all MTC universities are invited to submit papers for possible presentation at the annual fall student conference at Iowa State University.
Topics
Papers on topics related to the MTC's theme, transportation safety, are especially welcome, but students may submit papers on all transportation-related topics, including transportation issues dealing with engineering, planning, business, economics, psychology, or other transportation-related fields.
The papers are sent out for review, and the top papers are selected for presentation at the conference. All papers accepted for presentation will be printed in a compendium of papers.
Award
The graduate student with the best paper will receive a $1,000 award. The conference presentations are also reviewed, and the award determination is made following the conference.
Guidelines
The winning papers generally cover significant research efforts that typically included the collection of original data. Research presented should be student research; papers with faculty or staff as co-authors are not encouraged for this competition. Papers may not exceed 7,500 words (each figure and table counts as 250 words) and must be in the style employed by the Transportation Research Board. Style guides can be obtained from the Transportation Research Board.
Submission
The paper submission deadline is October 12, 2007. Papers may be submitted electronically in a PDF or Word format, but PDF is preferred.
