Feb 09, 2001: MC² Executive Committee Telephone Conference

Gary Whited, Jim Cable, Dan DeGraaf, Jim Groves, Jim Parry Tom Bryan

There is no name yet for the Ohio Contractor slot or the State perspective, but Don Glosser will by default give the State perspective if necessary and is working on getting a contractor speaker lined up.

A representative from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be at the meeting

Dexter Newman, Phone # 502-564-4780, dnewman@mail.kytc.state.ky.us Dexter will make a presentation on a warranty and A+B Optional Design pavement job let in KY.

For the reception 4/17, the IL Concrete Paving Assoc. and the National ACPA is being contacted.

There is no information on the speaker for warranty legal implications yet.

For the task force report regarding standardized dowel baskets, the chair of the task force, Tom Keith is retiring in a couple weeks. There has been agreement reached on a desired standard basket design.

Written reports provided to the membership at the meetings should be made available in electronic format to expedite posting on the website.

The state reports section of the April meeting will cover hot research items underway, this past winter's lab work, and this coming summer's preparations.

There is a need for research abstracts for posting on the website. Few entries have been made lately. Also, if anyone reads a concrete article or report that would be of interest to others, kindly bring a copy of the publication to the meetings, for placement/exposure to all. The article/report would be placed in the meeting room accessible to all for their information. Don’t make a bunch of copies (copywrite laws are still in place), the article is just for information to others who may then get/find their own copy to read.

The next telephone conference call for the Executive Committee will take place 3/30/01 at 8 AM CST.

An informal supper arrangement will be made by those present in the hotel lobby at 6 PM, 4/16.

The meeting next fall is tentatively scheduled for the time frame of Oct. 17-18. Before the end of the Spring meeting in April ends, a decision needs to be made on the location of the Fall meeting.

There is no word yet on furtherance of pooled fund work to implement HiperPave. No word from Ted Farragut and his panel received yet. Discussion of this should take place at the Fall meeting, hopefully.
