Signs and Pavement Markings Workshop
Keep signs in good shape.
Local governments are responsible for providing clear, informative traffic control devices and markings for public road travelers (specified in the Code of Iowa and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices). Consequently, local government staff need to be aware of all current recommendations and practices to perform their required duties properly. This workshop will help keep employees up to date.
Training that fits your schedule
A Signs and Pavement Markings Workshop can be scheduled at your convenience. The four-hour workshop will be presented by Tom McDonald, Iowa's Safety Circuit Rider, at your location at a convenient time.
Tom needs you to provide
- a VCR
- a video monitor
- a projection screen
- a meeting room
Cost
The workshop will be provided at a minimal cost.
Who should attend
- All staff members who are responsible for signing and pavement markings or supervise this work
- Other staff members who need to know the principles of signs and markings
- Combination of counties and cities is suggested

- Advise staff of new MUTCD requirements
- Discuss principles of good inventory and management systems
- Show examples of recommended practices and exchange ideas and experiences
