Midwest Smart Work Zone Deployment Initiative (MwSWZDI) Conference

May 10-11, 2005
Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino
Bettendorf, Iowa

About the conference

The Midwest Smart Work Zone Deployment Initiative (MwSWZDI), a consortium of several states and the Federal Highway Administration, studies and evaluates products and methods that improve safety and mobility in work zones. During the first four years of MwSWZDI, a total of 35 technologies were deployed and evaluated in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wisconsin. At this year’s MwSWZDI conference, researchers will report on past years’ technology evaluations and discuss new technologies.

Who should attend

Anyone who is interested in improving work zone safety and would like to learn more about smart technologies is encouraged to attend. This event brings together university researchers, state department of transportation officials, and Federal Highway Administration representatives from several Midwestern states.
