CTRE/Iowa State University hosts this TRB-style research symposium every other year. More than 100 presentations will be given during several sessions.

The symposium lasts a day and a half with a banquet the first evening. More details about specific sessions, presentations, and special speakers will be published here as it becomes available.

In addition to a primarily Midwestern audience, all papers presented at the conference will reach an international audience of researchers and practitioners via the Internet. The online symposium papers are popular resources accessed by hundreds of people every week.

Symposium banquet

A banquet will be held Thursday, August 16. Spouses or guests are welcome. There is a separate $35 charge for symposium attendees (both students and non-students) and each of their guests for the banquet.

Who should attend

Transportation researchers and practitioners alike will benefit from this unique symposium. Attendees from local, state, and national agencies and from the public and private sectors will find a variety of relevant topics for today’s post-interstate, global transportation challenges.

5 concurrent sessions will allow attendees to select exactly those presentations that address their interests or sample a broad spectrum of today’s transportation issues.

This symposium is being planned in accordance with the rules established by the Iowa Engineering and Land Surveying Examining Board for awarding professional development hours.
