American Railway Engineering Association (AREA) Manual for Railway Engineering

A large book found at the Iowa DOT or in the Parks Library Reserve Room (check under CE353). It is the "bible" for railroad design, containing 2 volumes in 4 books. The Iowa DOT also has a CD-ROM version.
