Course Information

Grading policy: 45% labs and homework, 10% daily quizes, 30% exams, 15% final

Late assignments/missed quizzes:

Submit any "good" excuses to me via email (so I won't lose them).

Please do not turn in labs late. Late labs will be penalized 20% per week.

The rail design lab is required to get a passing grade in the class.

We will have a quiz every day, which I will use to take attendance. Missed classes can be made up. In these cases, that day's quiz will not be averaged in. Attend CE 350 (a related lecture, see the CE 350 home page on the CTRE website). If not an option, you may attend a professional meeting related to transportation, e.g. and ASCE meeting on a transportation topic, TSA meeting or workshop, a seminar, a workshop, or TrPl 691. Simply send me an email indicating what you attended and which lecture you are substituting it for.

Standards

Lab write-ups (when required) should be complete documents which will be graded for grammar, style and neatness. They should look like professional reports. See notes in Lab requirements section.
