GIS-Tranplan

This portion of the informational tools discusses the use of GIS with the 24-hour Tranplan model to identify and display important aspects of intersection traffic. Some of the key items discussed in this section include the use of SELECT LINK ANALYSIS and BUILD TRIP TABLE FOR SELECTED LINKS within Tranplan. These two items will be shown with control files, tools to incorporate the information into the GIS environment and GIS-based analysis tools that will conveniently display traffic patterns.

This section is comprised of several options: introduction to modifying the network within the GIS package MapInfo, using the select links analysis in Tranplan to determine traffic using the interchange, examining the Build Trip Table to obtain origin-destination information and the turning movement capabilities of the GIS for ramp volumes.

Please section any of the options to continue to tutorial.
