Abstract: Provide guidance to county engineers for replacement or upgrading bridge and bridge approach guard railing by --Determining the criteria and guidelines used by other states for bridge and approach guardrail implementation for low and very low-volume roads. --Performing benefit/cost analysis for using bridge and approach guardrails based on traffic levels and road classifications. --Investigating the use of non-standard and innovative bridge and approach guardrails for low-volume roads.
