About the research
Research objective: The three overall objectives of the project are as follows. 1) To advance the state-of-the-art in concrete bridge construction technology by designing and constructing the first ultra high performance concrete bridge in the US in Wapello County, Iowa. 2) To develop experience in Iowa in the design and construction of bridges using advanced materials by using Iowa engineers and companies where possible. 3) To develop recommended design procedures for the shear design of ultra high performance concrete beams
