About the research
Abstract: The City of West Des Moines is Iowas fastest growing city. The development of Iowas largest regional mall (Jordan Creek Town Center) and Wells Fargos 10,000+ employee office complex in less than two years created the need for accurate and rapid transportation planning processes. This project integrated the regions top-down travel demand model with bottom-up traffic impact spreadsheets and geographic information systems to provide the detail and scope required to plan and size transportation facilities ranging from 6+2 lane urban arterials and innovative internal circulation and access to non-traditional freeway interchange and urban intersection designs.
