About the research

Abstract: The Center for Transportation Research and Education (CTRE) has developed a GIS-based Crash Mapping and Analysis Tool (CMAT) for the graphical display and summarization of geo-referenced statewide crash data. The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) has successfully deployed CMAT and the software is enjoying a base of utilization by users throughout Iowa. Change and modification requests by users are stemming from this deployment, resulting in a request by Iowa DOT for several additions and enhancements to the CMAT software. CTRE proposes to implement the Iowa DOT specified CMAT add-on components and enhancements.
